Sheryl Hollingshead MS, LPC

I returned to school at the age of 39 and graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling in 2007. It may sound like a worn out statement, but I went to school because I wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives.

For nearly seven years, I worked for the State of Arkansas as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor where I was able to help people with not just mental health but with adjusting to major disabilities and life changes. In 2013, I began working in substance abuse counseling. I saw people with great success but also worked with clients who continued to struggle. I noticed in working with addictions that I was dealing with the effects of my client's childhood abuse. This led me to work with children ages 5 to 17 who had experienced abuse. 

After several years working with children who had experienced major neglect and sexual abuse it was hard not to take it home. A friend was starting a private practice and felt my varied background would be beneficial to her practice. I enjoyed helping people start and progress through their journey to a well-balanced life and realized that I finally found my home. Now in private practice, I have a full range of experience to draw from to help clients in their journeys.
